Position overview:
We are seeking a Buyer / New Business Source to join our global organization operating in the automotive fasteners industry. This role is critical in defining and executing global sourcing strategies, managing OEM-driven requirements, and developing long-term supplier partnerships.
The ideal candidate will have strong automotive OEM experience (Ford, Türk Traktör, or similar) and deep expertise in fastener sourcing within a high-volume manufacturing environment. The position reports directly to the Purchasing Manager.
Main responsibilities:
The Buyer / New Business Source will:
- Define and execute category and sourcing strategies for automotive fasteners in line with business and OEM requirements
- Lead complex RFQ and sourcing projects, ensuring competitiveness, risk mitigation, and total cost optimization
- Perform total cost of ownership (TCO) and benchmarking analyses to support strategic decision-making
- Lead commercial negotiations with global and regional suppliers, including pricing, contracts, lead times, and long-term agreements
- Develop and manage strategic supplier relationships, ensuring performance excellence in cost, quality, delivery, and sustainability
- Ensure supplier compliance with contracts, OEM standards, and internal procurement policies
- Identify, assess, and mitigate supply chain and commodity risks
- Drive cost reduction, value engineering, and productivity initiatives across the fastener portfolio
- Collaborate closely with engineering, quality, planning, operations, and OEM customer teams
- Support supplier roadmaps, capacity planning, and long-term sourcing strategies in cooperation with strategic sourcing and supplier development teams
- Ensure effective use of ERP/MRP systems, data accuracy, and transparency in spend management
- Communicate proactively with internal stakeholders and global suppliers to prevent and resolve supply issues
- Other tasks and duties, as required.
Skills and Qualifications required:
The ideal candidate must have the following competencies:
- Experience in automotive purchasing or strategic sourcing, preferably within automotive fasteners or metal components
- Direct experience working with OEM customers such as Ford, Türk Traktör, or equivalent
- Solid understanding of serial production, OEM requirements, and automotive supply chain standards
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Fluent in English (spoken and written); able to operate in a global matrix organization Proven negotiation skills
- Strong analytical capabilities with advanced Microsoft Excel and cost modeling skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment with a variety of simultaneous projects

- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally when required
